"Fishing" for Interest
by Ron Hellbusch
We are "fishing" to see if anyone is interested in a Fishing/Outdoor church program. The goal of the program will be to bring folks together to share "devotional" time through fishing and outdoor experiences. These outings can be large group outings, or small groups of individuals, as time allows. We could also set aside time for special outings with the youth, or outings with elderly people who could not otherwise be able to enjoy fishing. We could also continue the program during the off season with meetings, speakers and programs on fishing and other outdoor activities. We might even want to partner with Trout Unlimited, Colorado Wildlife Federation or other fishing organizations that promote fishing for families, youth, the handicapped and the elderly. Look for upcoming bulletin announcements concerning and organizational meeting after church, tentatively June 6th. If you are interested, please contact Ron Hellbusch.
ZIMBABWE MISSION PARTNERSHIP
NEEDS YOUR HELP!!!!
by Doris Aldrich
The Zimbabwe Mission Partnership needs your help. The Partnership has several supplies with expiration dates that are rapidly approaching. These supplies are hygiene kits, medications and first aid supplies. The U.S. Department of Defense Humanitarian Shipments Program has had too many disasters to ship supplies, leaving organizations like ours to be unable to ship with them. That means there is NO MORE FREE shipments going out. But that does not mean that these items are not needed at our Orphan Care Center. The ZMP is now feeding 800 to 1,000 children every day, helping with school fees and uniforms and providing medical care for these children. But our funds are ruinning desperately low. The cost for shipping via a private company is $10,000 per container and we have two containers full of items to go to Zimbabwe, bring the cost to $20,000. YOU CAN HELP by making a tax-deductible contribution, by writing a check to your church and indicating, "FOR ZMP SHIPMENT" on the memo line. If you have any questions, you may contact Doris Aldrich.
